I have used Effaclar duo religiously for the past 5/6 years. I have oily acne prone sensitive skin, this was the one staple that has really changed the texture of my skin. I still use different moisturisers here and there but always resort back to it. In summer and on holidays my skin can dry out a little and I had been using Clinique moisture surge gel moisturiser which I loved but didn’t think it was a good price point. It moisturises but doesn’t have any lasting effect, when I seen there was a new effaclar duo in a gel consistency I was dying to try it. It gives the same benefits as the original as well as gives great moisture. If you’re someone that prefers a lighter moisturiser which still treats and benefits your skin. You will love this!! I will still use the original from time to time but I think I probably will repurchase this one as my go to moisturiser from now on!

I am not sure whether my skin can tolerate the acid/ingredients inside. For initial uses, my skin seemed to be fine to tolerate and it did help to calm the acne inflammation and pigmentation. However, after a while, if putting on whole face, I started feeling itch and a bit burning. After that, I only put on on spot if needed. For the effectiveness, I would say it did help but just be aware that you might be allergic or sensitive to the ingredients.
