Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo is a medicine. Contains Neutar™ solubilised coal tar extract for the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp, scalp psoriasis and dandruff. Always read the label.

For cutaneous use only. Liberal amounts of NEUTROGENA T/GEL® Therapeutic Shampoo should be applied and massaged into the wet scalp and left for several minutes. The scalp should be rinsed, the application repeated and then the scalp rinsed thoroughly. Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo should be used two to three times weekly for the treatment of scalp disorders. Treatment usually lasts for 6 weeks, after which time improvement should be seen. Longer periods of treatment should only take place under the supervision of a doctor. Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic shampoo is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age. Do not use on inflamed or broken skin.
Active Ingredient: NeutarTM Solubilised Coal Tar Extract 20 mg/ml (equivalent to 5mg/ml Coal Tar).
Other Ingredients: Macrogol Lauryl Ether (4), Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate, Cocodiethanolamide, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methyl Parahydroxybenzoate (E218), Propyl Parahydroxybenzoate (E216), Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid Anhydrous, Perfume (Contains Esters of Benzoic Acid, Benzyl Benzoate, Butylated Hydroxytoluene (E321)), Sodium Chloride, Purified Water.

Great for Dry Flaky Scalp
Used this twice a week for a dry flaky scalp and it cleared it right up. Does what is says on the tin. It does smell like tar - I don't mind it and thinks it's not particularly offensive; that but others might find it off-putting.

Sorts flakey scalp BUT
For many years this has completely sorted my flakey itchy scalp but the most recent bottle I have got hasn’t sorted it. Hopefully it’s just a bad bout and the ingredients have t changed!

The only thing that helps!
This seems to be the only shampoo that helps after trying many expensive ones. Use once every 2 or 3 washes. I do put a mask on after as it is a bit drying

Lifesaver
The Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo is a lifesaver! I have psoriasis, and I’ve struggled with a flaky, itchy scalp for years, and after just a few uses, this shampoo made a noticeable difference. The smell is quite strong and probably not the most pleasant one, just bear that in mind, but I use another shampoo after to adjust the smell.

Stinks but works
My son has scalp psoriasis and ordinary shampoo exacerbates the issue. This stuff stinks, literally, but it is very effective at calming his flakes and flare ups. Only downside is the smell.

It heals scalp issues, fast and effective but go for the one for oily scalp as the smell of this one is not great to say the least

Dry scalp
I have had a very dry itchy scalp lately and as I have coloured hair I have been using different colour protect dry scalp shampoo but they have not made much difference, I guess they’re too mild. So I have just started this shampoo as it has a good reputation, if it strips my colour then I’ll deal with it, my scalp is driving me crazy! Fingers crossed

Good dandruff killer
I’ve been using Neutrogena T/Gel Shampoo for a while now, and it’s honestly a game-changer for my scalp! The itching and flaking are way better, and my hair feels super clean without being stripped. It’s not the fanciest smelling, but it really works.
