The Clear and Defend Plus Facial Wash is a refreshing formula that helps to cleanse the skin, encouraging a clarified, more radiant look. Neutrogena’s face wash is powered by a 4% AHA/PHA blend that helps to even the skin tone and soothe the appearance of blemishes.
A 2% concentration of glycolic acid seeks to minimise the appearance of discolouration caused by blemishes. Gluconolactone, a resurfacing agent, aims to refine the skin, while salicylic acid helps to remove excess sebum. Discover a balanced-looking complexion with this revitalising face wash.
- Application: Wet face. Apply to hands, add water and massage face gently. Rinse thoroughly. Start with one application daily, then increase to two if desired. If dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day.
- Please Note: Avoid contact with eyes. Contains an AHA that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and sunburn. Use a sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.

Reduced redness

Powerful yet gentle on skin

Good but strong
I am used to actives in products and usually don’t have any issues when introducing new ones especially ones I have used before. I found this to be a good cleanser but definitely not for daily use, for me I have found it best to use once a week because it was stripping my face and making it become dry. It lathers well, the pump dispenses a good amount when you’re using it and now that I am using it the right amount of time for my skin it is working well. I’d suggest introducing it once a week to start with then building up if you need to. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Would recommend if you have mild acne
I have been using the product daily for two weeks and would definitely recommend it to anyone who struggles with mild acne and/or enlarged pores. I often get pimples on my forehead and usually use salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide in combination. For the past two weeks, I have been using only this face wash (which contains salicylic acid) and not the benzoyl peroxide, yet my skin has been clear and spot free. My pores also seem to be a little reduced in size. It does dry my skin out a bit so I initially had some flakiness around the side of my nose and my nasolabial folds, but I just started moisturising a little more frequently and that took care of the dryness. The texture of the face wash is a bit different from any others I've used - it's a bit more... gloopy than I'm used to. If you pull your hands away from your face before it's lathered, it strings out to your hands. But this isn't at all unpleasant or problematic, just an observation. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Good but not great
I liked the feel of this after I’d cleansed my face with it however the texture and capability of actually spreading it and rubbing it in was very difficult. It’s very thick and doesn’t move around very well so I felt myself using more product than I would usually to ensure I’d cleansed everywhere properly. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Decent cleanser for everyday use
This fit nicely into my routine, as I use a salicylic cleanser generally. It has a silky texture but does foam well. I had issues with the pump not releasing properly once pressed which makes the experience a little more annoying. I did feel like I had a couple more breakouts over the testing period than with my previous cleanser but that could just be due to holiday stress as well. I would definitely finish using it but not sure if I would purchase again. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Red marks starting to fade!
Since using this product for a few weeks now, I've noticed that I'm not breaking out as much, especially around my chin area where I am prone to break outs. I'm most pleased about the red marks and scarring from previous break outs fading, making my skin look a lot clearer. I love the consistency of this face wash, it lathers really nicely with water and you only need a small amount to clean your entire face. Great cleaning
