The Ordinary’s 100% Plant-Derived Squalane is designed to lend your skin the hydration it deserves. Squalane – a saturated and stable hydrocarbon found naturally in the skin – is believed to have a very high emollience, making the solution an effective hydrator.
Suitable for all skin types, the formula works to leave complexions looking soft and supple. What’s more, it can even be applied to hair to support heat protection, add shine and minimise the potential risk of breakage.
Apply a few drops daily or as needed to entire face ideally after water-based treatments.

Not for oily skin!
I bought this product after being recommended it by a friend but it just does not react well with my skin. I find it to be very heavy and greasy and as I already have fairly oily skin it just overloads it! For the price I would say it’s worth a try for people with dry skin looking for a moisture fix but if you suffer with oily skin I would avoid this product.

Rapidly approaching 40, my usual moisture surge was not enough for my thirsty skin, but heavy cream block my pores and cause breakouts. Switching to oils has given my skin its glow back. I use the ‘buffet’ serum under this squaline in the morning and under the squaline with 2% retinoids at night. I had the beginnings of fine lines which have now disappeared. My skin is clear, plumped up, dewy, glowing and radiant, am getting ID in the supermarket again (which at 39 years of age, hadn’t happened for a while) So you can’t ask for better than that really. These products work! And at such a bargain price.

Brought me out in awful spots
I really wanted to love this product, as I am obsessed with The Ordinary products. However, this serum reacted really badly with my already oily skin and brought me out in awful as well as painful spots.

I love this product as a Vegan alternative, I get all the nourishment I need without any of the cruelty! My face is left so soft and so smooth, the only thing is I find it a little heavy, so I would only recommend for those with dry skin types.

I usually have a morning routine and use a few products, but after an hour I noticed my skin was a bit dry, I got this product for the first time and now I can feel more hydrated my face when using this oil. I like Ordinary products in general, but this is my all time favorite! My skin is normal, a bit dry and this squalane works perfectly. It absorbs really quickly, is not too heavy or greasy and my skin feels wonderful. I am using it as a base under the BB cream or just instead the cream, skin is moisturized and glowing. Totally recommend!! :)
