The Ordinary’s 100% Plant-Derived Squalane is designed to lend your skin the hydration it deserves. Squalane – a saturated and stable hydrocarbon found naturally in the skin – is believed to have a very high emollience, making the solution an effective hydrator.
Suitable for all skin types, the formula works to leave complexions looking soft and supple. What’s more, it can even be applied to hair to support heat protection, add shine and minimise the potential risk of breakage.
Apply a few drops daily or as needed to entire face ideally after water-based treatments.

Nothing groundbreaking but quite good
I'd used Bybi's bakuchiol + squalene serum not too long ago and when it ran out, I realised how much I enjoyed the texture and how my skin appeared/felt afer using it. Since the serum was squalene-based, I decided to give this The Ordinary squalene a go. And I'm quite happy with it. It doesn't do anything groundbreaking, which to be honest, rarely any basic skincare item does, but it does what it is supposed to do and it feels really nice on the skin. I have sensitive, rosacea-prone skin, so this feels soothing and comforting on my skin. I have only been using it for less than a week but I'm enjoying it so far. I wouldn't suggest using it if you intend to apply makeup directly after, but I put this on in combination with other products immediately after waking up and washing my face, and then I only apply makeup and hour or so later. So it works fine like that. And it's perfect to use in the evenings. Your skin feels pampered.

an absolute favorite
my all time favorite oil- i have extremely sensitive skin that reacts to any kind of fragrance and essential oils which makes looking for moisturisers super hard (seeing as the vast majority of the moisturisers marketed as 'fragrance free' have sensitizing essential oils in them). i've been using this for a couple of months now to combat pretty intense eczema on my face and hands and have had more success using this in combination with HA and niacinamide than i've had with anything else i've used. well worth a try, i really like it !

Can take a while to sink into the skin and definitely has an ‘oily’ feel but great for dry winter skin. Can pill a little when used with other products.
